Many people ask me "Why?" I don't tie myself to a religion.(Mainly Christianity.)
Here's why...
I don't like what many religions impose on people... They ask you to believe in something that you can't see, ask you to believe in a God or Gods that want sacrifice, murder, sexist behavior, bigotry, and such.
How can you put all of your faith into something so cruel and so utterly NOT there? How can you be OK with a God telling you to kill your child just because your young one tells you "no"? How can you tolerate worshiping a God that demands women be treated like brooding trash? Doesn't it bother you at all??
Well, I know that many Christians read through the bible with rose-colored glasses... picking what scriptures to like and laughing casually at the rest.
The bible condones slavery, rape, killing in "the name of your lord". And you dare ask me "Why?"...
I'm an Atheist, not only because Science has proven religion to be a huge fail, but because I refuse to believe in any deity that tells me to be a terrible person.
I will not ignore facts.
Even if "God" miraculously popped up in my living room and showed me his divine presence was real... I'd never become a Christian.
